Sažetak
The aim of the study was to determine whether there are statistically significant differences in attitudes towards dance of students in appropriately selected high schools in the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County area given the gender of the respondents and the county in which the school is located. Data were collected voluntarily and anonymously via the Internet with a survey questionnaire that includes a dance attitude scale of 20 items (Vlašić and Bosnar, 2007) and questions about dancing, and the obtained data were processed using descriptive statistics and t- test for independent samples. At the level of the total sample, it turned out that attitude towards dance is positive, but if gender differences are observed, then girls have a positive attitude, and boys have a negative attitude towards dance. It was further confirmed that respondents from the City of Zagreb have significantly more positive attitude towards dance compared to respondents from the Zagreb County. It has been confirmed that in the City of Zagreb, a higher percentage of high school students are engaged in dancing than in the areas of Zagreb County, it was also confirmed that more girls dance than boys do. A total of 276 respondents have a positive attitude, and only 43 of them are currently engaged in dancing, therefore, it could be concluded that a positive attitude towards dance does not mean that a person will engage in dancing.
