Sažetak
The increasing demand in tourism has led to the development of various forms of tourism. One of them is glamping tourism or luxury/glam camping. Glamorous holidays combined with camping are becoming more and more important in the tourism sector, leading to a growing offer of this type of tourism worldwide. Tourism is one of the most important economic sectors in Croatia, but it is mainly focused on mass tourism and sea tourism. However, the diversity of Croatia's natural resources offers the opportunity to develop various forms of rural tourism, including glamping tourism. This form of tourism has only recently developed in Croatia and its potential has not yet been fully exploited. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate the opinions of experts and tourists about glamping tourism in Croatia and its prospects. Interviews were conducted with 14 representatives of glamping camps, while the survey was conducted among a convenient sample of 231 tourists. All interviewees believe that there are many opportunities for further development of glamping tourism in Croatia, but they also believe that this form of tourism will not reach its potential for some time. An important prerequisite for further development is the training of tourism professionals and a clearly defined national tourism strategy that follows global trends.
