Sažetak
Public enterprise for the management of forests and forestland in the Republic of Croatia "Hrvatske šume" d.d. provides sustainable forest management by wood sale prescribed on the basis of forest economic policy for the area. Wood sale should be of help in finalization stage of the domestic wood industry and ensure sufficient volumes of wood required by local population. In the period between 1995 and 2000, the sold volumes of wood show an increasing trend, followed by an inadequate increase of income as the effect of a hard situation in the economy of the Republic of Croatia, impossibility of achieving market prices for wood and personal negligence in determining the quality of wood assortments.
