Sažetak
The famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik was made in 1935. project for the complex of the church of Our Lady in Lourdes in Zagreb. Due to the Second World War circumstances, he managed to realize only the crypt. In 1970 the crypt is added a superstructure –the upper church made after the project of architect Zvonimir Vrkljan. The building is being finished in 2021 by architects Zorana and Igor Gojnik. In the strong earthquake that happened in Zagreb in March 2020, the crypt and the church suffered damage, and the whole monument was endangered. After the earthquake, there was a need for the restoration of the crypt. As a preparation for the reconstruction, the project documentation of Jože Plečnik was studied and his original spatial thought was discovered. It was realized that the crypt was not entirely built according to Plečnik's innovative project. The aim of this paper is to present the discovered insight of the project of the crypt that was discovered for the occasion of the restoration and that become base for preservation, conservation, and restoration of Plečnik's crypt.
