Sažetak
The health care system in Croatia has the commitment to promote the quality of life, and make conditions for the economic growth by preserving and improving the health of each individual and the entire population. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia is a state administration body with the task to work on the improvement, promotion and protection of citizens’ health. The Croatian health system implements measures for the protection and improvement of health, i.e. treatment and rehabilitation of patients in an efficient and rational way, always grounded on scientifically based knowledge. Patients have a central and active role in the system based on high ethical and moral standards. Preservation, protection and improvement of health by protecting public interests, early detection of disease risks, disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of patients is the mission of the Ministry of Health. The Croatian health care system aims to provide health care in accordance with European standards.
