Sažetak
The aim of this work is to analyse the social impact perceived by the residents of the localities that hosted the start/finish of the stages of the road cycling sport event "La Vuelta" in the 2021 edition and to compare the possible differences between the opinion of the residents at three different moments (pre - in situ - post). A total of 4434 residents from 39 localities completed the survey. A questionnaire composed of 26 items and 5 dimensions (Economic Benefits ; Sociocultural and Psychosocial Benefits ; Image and Promotion Benefits ; Social Costs ; Future intentions) was used. Data were collected online via Facebook Ads in the pre-event and post-event period and face-to-face in the on-site period using tablets and QR code. ANOVA test was carried out to identify different residents’ opinions between phases. The results show that the pre- event phase had the lowest positive scores on all items, while the on-site phase was the highest rated. Opinions in the post-event phase were better than in the pre-event phase. Future intentions was the highest rated dimension.
