Sažetak
This article talks about the life and work of Faust Vrančić, who was born in 1551 in Šibenik and died in 1617 in Venice. Faust Vrančić comes from a family that took care of the education of children, we emphasise that this is the transition from the 16th to the 17th century, so more than 400 years ago. In the article we talk about his education in Veszprém, Padua, and the activities he performed. He left behind several books and several important inventions. We find that he was interested in mathematics and especially in the application of mathematics. We also bring photos of two pages from Euclid's book Elements that he used in his native Šibenik. The incunabula is kept in the monastery of St. Francis in Šibenik. A note written in Faust's handwriting can be seen on one page. We thank Friar Ivan for the photos he kindly sent us. The incunabula which is kept in the museum of St. Antun in Šibenik- Euclidean elements with Faust's note Vrančić is best remembered for his inventions - a flying man (parachute), bridges.
