Sažetak
Pharmacoeconomics and monitoring of drug consumption play a very important role in the decision making in order to achieve the most effective and the most appropriate use of medicines. One of HALMED’S activities is monitoring the overall drug consumption and the promotion of rational use of medicines. This paper presents the data on the consumption of drugs and the results of its monitoring for the period 2010 to 2014 in Croatia. Drug consumption data and the pharmacoeconomic analyses are important tools which add considerably to decision makers in the creation of health policy. The drug consumption data in Croatia shows a moderate and steady consumption growth from year to year, both in the DDD/TSD and the financial indicators.
