Sažetak
In the event of earthquake that struck city of Zagreb on 22.03.2020. with magnitude of 5.3 (Richter scale), many of the old-town masonry buildings were heavily damaged. Tramway line through Zagreb city centre is closely situated next to damaged buildings. In respect to that, measurements were made to investigate the possibility of unfavourable influence of tram traffic induced vibra-tions on masonry structures. After initial vibration analysis on a building and on tram vehicle, four locations were chosen, taking in consideration the condition of the building, distance from the rail track to the building and tram traffic density. Further, each location has been analysed to determine positions where the highest vibrations on the buildings are to be expected. Such location on each building has been chosen for the long term monitoring. Measurement equipment was installed on the chosen locations and measurements were made according to the standard HRN DIN 4150-3:2016 - Vibrations in buildings - Part 3: Effects on structures. The aim of the paper is to analyse vibration levels produced by tram traffic on already structurally damaged buildings which is an issue faced in downtown Zagreb since large scale renewal will last for a long period of time and the tram service had to resume operation shortly after the earthquake debris have been removed and track proven safe for operation.
