Sažetak
This paper presents the development of the men's summer postal uniform. The uniform consists of a modular long-sleeved jacket and pants with an integrated zipper at the armhole and at knee level. As a result, new uniform can be created composed of the sleeveless jacket and short pants. The whole development process of the summer postal uniform model, based on the application of a modern 2D/3D CAD system for computer design and simulation of clothing, is presented. First, the physical and mechanical properties of the selected material intended for the production of the uniform were measured and evaluated in the laboratory in order to transfer the determined values into the CAD system. The basic pattern parts were digitized as basis for the computer modeling. Furthermore, the elaboration of all the uniform pattern parts was carried out. A complex 3D simulation of the uniform was performed as well as the analysis and computer evaluation of the model fit on the simulated uniform. After the initial virtual verification, the actual modular summer postal uniform was produced. The thermal insulation of two modular uniforms was tested. All measurements were performed at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology, Department of Clothing Technology.
