Sažetak
The first part of the article is a continuation of the paper Functional requirements for bibliographic records and the UNIMARC format: structuring the MARC record for the older books presented on the 4th Seminar Archives, Museums, Libraries: Possibilities of Co-operation within the Environment of the Global Information Infrastructure (Rovinj, 2000). In order to establish a continuous introspection into the course of developments and possible applications of the entity-realtionship model, two papers on functional requirements for bibliographic records that were presented during 25th Library Systems Seminar in Prague in June 2001. will be discussed in this article, along with the conclusions at the end of the workshop dealing with the same topic. The second part of the article gives a brief overwiev of the activities of the Working Group on Functional Requirements and Numbering of Authority Records - FRANAR, from its founding in 1999 to the present days. In addition, following the methodology of defining the functional requirements for authority records which had been presented by the chair of the Working Group Françoise Bourdon during the 67th IFLA Council and General Conference in Boston, 2001, a possible approach to define the basic entities which should be the subject of an authority record is here proposed. The suggestion is based on the entities defined in the study Functional requirements for bibliographic records and will have to be completed by entities appearing in other sources relevant to this area.
