Sažetak
Based on the idea of plurilingualism and European linguistic and cultural variety the Common European Framework for Languages (CEF) represents the fundament for standization and comparability of the outcomes of language learning in European countries. The European Language Portfolio (ELP) based on the competence levels established by CEF offers a practical and standardizing instrument but it also contains very important pedagogical dimension (autonomous learning, self-evaluation, process oriented learning etc.). The implementation of CEF and ELP in Croatia is at the very beginning. Presently, there are no coordinated activities in the fields of curricula, tests or ELP development. One of the reasons for this difficiency is certainly the ongoing discussion of the educational reform. Becouse of non existing action plan on the national level the Croatian Association of German Teachers (CAGT) has organised several activities to inform German teachers about the CEF and ELP. In October 2002 the CAGT organised in Novi Vinodolski, Croatia the International Conference "The European Language Portfolio" in order to present the fundaments and the implications of CEF and ELP with emphasize on dimension of teaching methodology. In April 2003 the CAGT started the series of workshops dealing with the ELP with the purpose to establish the task group for ELP development at different school levels. Other activities in this direction are in preparation.
