Sažetak
Everything we were familiar with and often taken for granted, suddenly changed in unprecendent ways, how we interact and function as humans and artists. Meeting other people transferred to a virtual world, and traveling easily became like a distant memory. We embarked on a solitary art journey, during this ‘new normal’, through a place of self-reflection, soul-searching, and self-nourishing processes. Six female artists tell their individual yet interconnected stories. Our prints delve on specific, contemporary times we live in ; they are introcpetive, contemplative, experimental, and in some instances emotionally explore past experiences and how influences by some for us crucial people shaped our identity. Navigating through a virtual space, more then ever before, we witness a perpetually evolving nature of self as artists, and unexpected roads our creative practices have taken. We realize that athough living and working in different parts of the world we struggle with similar problems in the midst this ongoing pandemic. Recognizing each other through art unravelled boundaries even between people that have not yet meet outside virtual spaces. Our practices and a need to connect brings us together, console and inspire us in moments of personal crisis, isolations, and anxieties, and encourage us to weave our solitary treads, intertwined in a joint fabric. The proposed exhibition, Virtual Interconnections, the result of interactions among Ana Vivoda, Arianna Tagliabue, Olesya Dzhurayeva, Adriana Lucaciu, Taida Jasarevic, and Irena Keckes, reveal diversity of our integrated experiences and unified post-pandemic voices.
