Sažetak
Despite the fact that sprays are frequently utilized in various fields of human activity, the understanding of physical phenomena regarding sprays/wall interactions is still limited. Significant progress can be achieved in terms of energy efficiency, cost reduction of industrial processes and cooling performance with the expansion of current knowledge in the field. In this work, spray impingement was simulated with Euler-Lagrangian approach within computational fluid dynamics. Previously available spray/wall interaction models were employed to determine the impingement regimes and secondary droplet characteristics and performance of each model was evaluated against experimental data from the literature. More advanced models were expected to produce better results. Apart from the model evaluation, another goal of this study is to identify the gap for further improvement of impingement characterization. Wall tangential droplet spreading was determined to be the area where further refinement of the method is needed the most.
