Sažetak
Senj is a medieval town with a rich and turbulent past, which is written about by numerous authors The city of Senj is located in an area where significant earthquakes are most likely to happen Furthermore, it has been hit by strong earthquakes throughout history, which is documented in the paper. Old stone buildings predominate within the historic city center of Senj, which is the focus of this research. In order to make a contribution regarding the behavior and seismic resistance of existing buildings, it is first necessary to visually establish the typology of buildings and the masonry typology. A visual inspection of the buildings in the historic city center indicated that most of the buildings were built of stone and brick parts. Senj is one of the cities that suffered significant damage during the Second World War, so it is assumed that the rapid reconstruction of damaged buildings is the result of a mixed type of masonry (stone and brick parts).
