Sažetak
Tomato production in Croatia makes significant % of total vegetable production and sustainable cultivation models, which can contribute to tomato higher abiotic stress tolerance, are needed. Although arbuscular mycorrhizae fungi (AMF) are able to boost plant water and nutrient supply, in intensive production systems, AMF can be negatively affected by seed fungicide treatment. Seed sterilisation is method often used as phytosanitary alternative for fungicide untreated seeds. The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of seeds sterilization along with AMF application on root mycorrhization, phosphorous (P) acquisition as well as different morphological parameters of processing tomato cultivar seedlings. The experiment was set up as randomized block design, in four replicates, with two main factors: i) treatment: (unsterilized seeds (control) ; unsterilized seeds inoculated with AMF (AEGIS) ; sterilised seeds with 10 % H2O2 (H2O2) ; sterilised seeds with 10 % H2O2 and AMF inoculation (H2O2+AEGIS)) and ii) year of cultivation (2017, 2018). Forty-five days after sowing AEGIS plants were highest compared to all other treatments plants. Furthermore, the AEGIS treatment resulted with higher tomato seedlings root and leaf+steam dry mass compared to control as well as control and H2O2 plants, respectively. Treatment x Year interaction showed that highest % of tomato root mycorrhization was achieved within AEGIS (8.5-12.7 %) compared to H2O2+AEGIS (6.5-6.7 %) treatments in two consecutive years. However, both AEGIS and H2O2+AEGIS treatments had shown highest P above ground concentration compared to control and H2O2 treatment. Influence of the year, as main factor, on other selected parameters remains unclear.
