Sažetak
We present the historical circumstances of the development of pediatric surgery in Croatia and predict the outcomes for the near future. With the establishment of the first independent Chair of Pediatric Surgery in Rijeka in 2021, a new era begins. Only with the establishment of the Croatian network of autonomous chairs of pediatric surgery and the opening of the Children's National Hospital in Blato the circle of affirmation of pediatric surgery in Croatia will be closed.
