Sažetak
The paper traces the issue of subjecthood and citizenship in Croatia in the period before 1848. The main argument relates to the concept of subjecthood of the lands of the Hungarian Crown and ruptures of the concept in the case of Croatia. The author specifically pointed out changes in political discourse in Croatia during 1830s and 1840s that emphasized diversity between Hungary and Croatia in the field of public law belonging of persons.
