Sažetak
The paper proposes the case study focused on foreigners in the city of Zadar, the capital of the Venetian Province Dalmatia and Albania, during the War of Crete (1645–1669). Based on the notarial acts of the period, the analysis will elucidate some questions regarding newcomers on the Eastern Adriatic coast, and emphasize the impact of this specific group on local urban society. The outcome will serve to better understanding the Adriatic urban space within the wider Mediterranean world.
