Sažetak
Human beings are beings of communication. As an international language in almost all spheres of human endavour, English continues to dominate. One of purpose in business communication is the one of leading, and this paper relies on the hypothesis that knowing and using English rather well makes the user assume a much different persona in leadership. This persona is hypothesized as more confident and more divergent in its nature. The hypothesis of assuming and developing a different personality while using a second language has been based on a weaker version of Sapir-Whorf hypothesis within this paper. The paper’s research heavily relies on the feedback regarding leadership skills among students of Business management and Gastronomy and Restaurant Management courses at PAR University College, during in-house classes in the post-Covid-19 era. One online questionnaire was created in Google forms and distributed to students during March 2022. The paper may serve as a foundation for more extensive research in the future, looking deeper into the perceived importance of leadership roles among students of Business English within business courses. This type of research may be of higher value in the future, not just to the second language users themselves, but to the institutions that provide them education before they enter the job market.
