Sažetak
Research and development of medicines is an extremely complex activity for which sufficient resources and time should be provided. An idea for a new drug can come from an individual, but for that idea to become a product, it takes an extremely expert with different knowledge and skills. Although most new molecules have been discovered in large countries, there are examples of exceptional discoveries being made in smaller communities as well. This is exactly the case in Croatia, where azithromycin was invented.
