Sažetak
In modern education systems, visual culture is considered an alternative to established art education because the contents of visual culture are an unavoidable part of the stude nt’s daily reception of the world. Learning such content must be achieved at a critical level of interpretation, so it is necessary to develop other skills beyond the artisticaesthetic approach. This paper considers visual culture as a new concept in the system and explores possible integration scenarios. future education Qualitative futurological methods using intuition, hypotheses, and judgement were applied in the study. It is also applied as a form of exploratory research whose starting point is in i ts present state, and the goal is to project the future. More alternative options are multidimensionally explored by the causal layered analysis method based on the fundamental poststructuralist principle to use and integrate different ways of knowing. Thefirst alternative is the interdisciplinary embedding of visual culture as a cross curricular theme ; the second is the introduction of visual literacy as one of the possible multimodal curriculum literacies ; the third is forming an independent subject with its curriculum ; the fourth is the integration into existing art education. The scenario method explores possible alternative futures, which gives a detailed exploration of a future possibility, mainly using the process scenario method to describe the whole story with perceived results and consequences. The research participants were graduate study students from the Academy of Arts and Culture educated as art teachers in elementary and secondary schools.
