Sažetak
This is an English edition of the catalogue which was first printed for the exhibition "Avant-garde & Continuity" (Vienna, 2007). The book presents architectural projects in Croatia which can be divided into three effective periods, with distinct styles and conditions. Social and political circumstances had a huge impact on the projects: the 1930s presented raise of modernism and emancipation of the bourgeois social class, the 1950s and 1960s were fundamentally influenced by the socialist socio-political system. Currently, independent Croatia is undergoing a reorientation in conditions marked by the market economy. The book highlights the most important projects from these three periods.
