Sažetak
With the objective of providing a cement market, the cement industry in Yugoslavia is making plans to invest in the ready-mixed (RM) concrete industry. The realization of the RM concrete plants network is to be effected by integrating the existing plants and by constructing new ones. Such an extensive investment program presents numerous solutions. These have to meet the requirements dictated by various criteria. Multicriteria analysis is a realistic approach to this complex problem which includes some conflicting criteria. We have found that the PROMETHEE method is well adapted to this problem, since its flexibility enables the decision-maker to express his preferences more precisely, and results can be easily obtained by a stability problem. In this paper, the problem is formulated, the criteria are estimated and quantified, and location planning is obtained by using the PROMETHEE methodology. The obtained solutions are discussed and the computational results are given.
