Sažetak
Structural and primary sequence analysis is required to determine the drivers of ester hydrolase catalytic function. Current sequence alignment methods such as Clustal Omega and the alfa-carbon-based structural alignment do not account for active sites. To correct this, we have developed a method that aligns primary sequences based on the catalytic residues in the active sites. To complement primary sequence alignment, we also developed a structural alignment method that aligns all catalytic residue atoms between two or more enzymes.
