Sažetak
A novel design for electromagnetically coupled patch structures is introduced. A CAD simulation tool was used to perform the optimization of the basic antenna model. The model consists of the driven and loosely coupled butterfly patches. The optimized antenna has to show a reduced impedance dependence upon frequency, as a measure for the greater operating bandwidth, simultaneously preserving satisfying radiation properties. This is achieved by increasing the upper patch dimensions and introducing butterfly shaped patches. After the optimal model was found, a matching network consisting of two transmission lines is applied. Thus achieved bandwidth is 24% with VSWR<2.
