Sažetak
In the environment, we often witness the advocacy of manual testicular detorsion. It can often be heard that, if surgical exploration cannot be done immediately, manual detorsion should be attempted. Textbooks and manuals often only state that manual detorsion should be attempted in a direction like “opening a book”, from medial to lateral direction. Should these principles be taken for granted, or should we still consider when and whether to try this approach at all, especially in children in hospital settings when there are conditions for it and when we can do exploration quickly, especially within six hours of symptom onset when testicular tissue survival is greater than 97%.
