Sažetak
The Museum of Arts and Crafts (MUO) in Zagreb was founded in 1880. In its various collections Museum has cca 100.000 objects and is considered to be the largest museum in Croatia. The carpets and kilims collection has cca 300 museum objects. All four major regions in carpet and kilim production are represented in the collection. Among carpets, Anatolian carpets makes the larger group, then Caucasian, Persian and the smallest group are Turmen carpets. The larger group among kilims are the ones from Cazin, Bosnia. The oldest carpet in the collection is 17th century persian carpet, and the rest of the carpets and kilims mainely date in the 19th century. Although collection of carpets and kilims from Museum of Arts and Crafts is small, it offers a survey in the wealth and diversity of the carpet and kilim production as an important part of the islamic art.
