Sažetak
E Late Renaissance Dubrovnik philosopher Nikola Vitov Gučetić (Nicolò Vito di Gozze, 1549-1610), an extraordinarily prolific author of Platonic and Aristotelian dialogues and commentaries on the works of Aristotle and the scriptures, resorted to various Venetian printers to release thirteen titles in ten publications during his lifetime. A large part of his oeuvre, however, was never published, or remained in both printed and manuscript form ; they will be discussed in this paper. The paper gives a review of Gučetić’s manuscript legacy: the available codices (Vatican Apostolic Library ; Vat. lat. 499, 500, 514, 1219, 1449 ; Oliveriana: MS 834 ; NUL Zagreb: R 3230 and R 3239) will be enumerated. Another task will be to describe, classify and as far as is possible to identify the hands that wrote out the manuscripts of Gučetić’s works – four of them at least – so as, on the one hand, to be able to rebut the status as autographs that the manuscripts have enjoyed to date (for example, Urb. lat. 1219) and, on the other hand, to see which of these hands might truly belong to the author.
