Sažetak
The printed works and numerous preserved manuscripts across the monastery libraries indicate that one can rightly speak about Croatian Franciscan philosophy and theology, as well as linguistics and literature. It is precisely the centuries-old Franciscan unity and distribution in such a wide area from Buda to the Adriatic Sea, from Istria to the Croatian Danube Region, that provided fertile soil for the immense contribution of the Croatian Franciscan Friars to the development of the Croatian language and the preservation of its uniqueness. The book presents the basic features of the language of Slavonian Franciscan Friars. All the relevant Franciscan writers whose language has been poorly researched or not described at all have been studied.
