Sažetak
This work presents detailed data on the qualitative composition, population density and biomass of phytoplankton in Kuti Lake. Lake is situated in south-eastern part of Neretva Delta. It is nature- protected area. Samples were taken in the period from 1994-1998. A total 159 taxa were determined: 50 taxa of Bacillariophyceae, 31 Cyanobacteria, 29 Chlorophyceae and Conjugatophyceae, 13 Pyrrhophyceae, Chrysophyceae and three Euglenophyceae. The richest floristic composition was in October 1995. The taxa that are permanent in a phytoplankton are: Chroococcus limneticus, Mycrocysstis aeruginosa, Peridinium willei, Ceratium hirundinella, Assteroionella formosa, Cyclotella striata, Fragilaria crotonensis, Synedra capitata, Synedra ulna and Staurastrum furcigerum. The diatoms (Bacillariophyceae) dominated in the qualitative samplings and cyanophyta (Cyanobacteria) dominated in the population density of phytoplankton. The population density of phytoplankton, throughout years, ranged from 1320 - 628560 cells l-1. The highest number of taxa belonged to betamesosaprobic water quality level.
