Sažetak
The author demonstrates that the expedition od Doge Peter II Orseolo to Dalmatia in 1000 was neither a Venetian conquest of Dalmatia nor a temporary conquest od Dalmatian isles and towns with the Byzantium permission, but a Venetian participationin the tremendous effort of Basile II, emperor of Byzantium, to destroy the Macedonian state of Samuel, one of the greatest opponents to the position of Byzantines as the strongest world power at those times.
