Sažetak
This paper aims to determine what changes occurred during the creation of a new subject curriculum of the Croatian language within the Curriculum Reform in Croatia. The issues considered by analyzing the new curriculum and its repercussions are whether pedagogy degrades philology, what is the position of teachers and how higher education institutions that educate teachers have responded to the reform in their strategic documents. Furthermore, the methodology of the paper is based on the analysis of elaborations, i.e., syllabi and programs of graduate university study programs Croatistics/Croatian language and literature within educational studies at six higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia. It is observed the extent to which these documents, more precisely forming of methodical courses, are in line with the new curriculum guidelines as a preparation of future teachers for its implementation in school practice. The results of the research will point to the predominance of traditional methodical theory or newly introduced curriculum theory. This will shed light on the position, role and focus of educational studies in context of Croatistics according to the concept of planning, which includes didactics, on the one hand, or curriculum theory, on the other.
