Sažetak
The authors investigate approximate inverse systems and their limits [see also the preceding review] obtaining the following result: If P is a class of compact polyhedra without isolated points then each P-like (compact Hausdorff) space is the limit of an approximate inverse system of polyhedra from the class P with surjective bonding maps. Such a theorem is not true for usual inverse systems in the case of non-metric P-like spaces, as it was shown by the first author and B. A. Pasynkov in a series of papers in 1958-1962. Recall that a compact Hausdorff space X is called P-like if for every open covering U of X there exists P in P and a surjective map f: X→P such that {;f−1(p): p∈P}; refines U. In the metric case the above mentioned expansion theorem is not true without the assumption on the absence of isolated points in polyhedra from P.
