Sažetak
At the beginning of the twentieth century, along with the maturing of modern science, there was a need to get to know the nature of this being named science. This is how the reflections on science began to develop, and how the philosophy of science as a new philosophical discipline emerged. However, after the first attempts of the Vienna Circle to describe the logic of science, it became clear that a more complex approach would be needed to understand the nature of science. To understand the nature of science Derek J. de Solla Price considered it necessary to explore various aspects of science: philosophical, sociological, psychological, economic, historical, and political aspects. He called such an endeavour Science of Science. In this lecture, we provide an insight into the basic characteristics of Science of Science and its development. At the same time, based on examples from modern scientific practice, we consider it necessary to emphasize the importance of further development of research into psychological and sociological aspects of science. Namely, in addition to the philosophical aspects of science, understanding the psychological and sociological aspects of science is the foundation for understanding the nature of science itself.
