Sažetak
The paper presents different aspects in design of synchronous permanent magnet motor for a racing car that will compete in Formula Student competitions. The motor project includes electromagnetic, thermal, mechanical, operational envelope analysis and drive-cycle analysis within the Motor-CAD software. Initially, electromagnetic transient calculations on corner speed were performed. The duty cycle of the formula student competition track was simulated and studied. The motor is designed under given constrains of the competition rule book and physical limitations to perform well on a variety of tests.
