Sažetak
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to sudden changes and adjustments in learning and teaching. Teachers found themselves in situations where they had to show their expertise and willingness to organize and conduct different forms of teaching. Flexibility and adaptability in teaching have become the main topics of all discussions on education. Teaching literature in the foreign language classroom is not isolated from the newly arisen challenges. Authentic picturebooks and other forms of children’s literature are yet again in danger of being marginalized or neglected within the foreign language learning context. The goal of this paper is to explore the possibility of quality teaching of literature with adequately integrated digital media into the foreign language classroom in Croatian schools. For the purpose of this study the picturebook If You Happen to Have a Dinosaur (2014) by Linda Bailey and Colin Jack will be used in the middle of the school year with a randomly chosen class of third graders in a Croatian primary school. The research will encompass several English lessons based on the selected picturebook. The picturebook will be studied with the help of digital tools as well as pupils' activities which will be organized in different forms of work. Activities used during the lessons will be based on digital media and created specifically for this picturebook. Also, data on the acquired knowledge will be collected by means of a questionnaire.
