Sažetak
This paper describes the development of the Croatian version of the Communicative Development Inventories-III (CDI-III). The Swedish version of CDI-III (Eriksson, 2017) was recently adapted to the Croatian language. It follows the structure of the original, but respects the linguistic features of Croatian. At the time of writing this abstract the CroCDI-III is in its first use. With the help of about 20 speech-language therapists, 590 children with typical language development, whose native language is Croatian, are being assessed. Half of these children will be tested with the Croatian version of the New Reynell Developmental Language Scale (NRDLS-HR, 2019) to test the external validity of the scale, but also to compare the objective assessment (conducted by SLP) with the parental assessment of the child's language development. In addition, 70 children with developmental language disorder will be assessed by their parents using the same scale. The aim of this presentation is to introduce the structures and items of the newly developed Croatian CDI-III, to explain the language criteria obtained for its development and to present the preliminary data.
