Sažetak
The stray currents caused by urban tracks cause high maintenance costs on metal structures located near the tracks. Therefore, nowadays great efforts and numerous research are carried out to protect endangered structures. However, the influence of stray currents on metal elements of track structure has not been studied. To determine the influence of stray currents on the rails and elements of different fastening systems, a laboratory test was conducted. The tested fastening systems are characteristic for the tram infrastructure in the city of Zagreb, which belongs to the discretely fastened tracks. The analysis of the influence of stray currents was performed in dry conditions and at different water level in the specimens. Voltages were recorded on all components of the fastening system. At the end of the test a visual inspection was performed to determine which fastening elements in the observed specimens were damaged by DC current.
