Sažetak
With the increasing complexity of technical systems and the rising costs of their development, construction, operation and maintenance, the reliability and availability of systems are recognized as important factors for the quality of the entire process. This is especially important for systems whose failure can cause large economic losses or endanger human safety. The focus is on the performance assessment indexes: reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS). RAMS is a generic term for the analysis performed in the early phases of an industrial or construction project. With the improved RAMS processes and tools, we can optimize equipment life cycle costs, resulting in global trade-offs between reliability, maintainability, and logistical support allocation to meet the dependability and safety requirements.
