Sažetak
We study the plasmon mode of the nodal line semimetal with two-dimensional Dirac electron energy bands and the long-range three-dimensional Coulomb electron-electron interaction within the random phase approximation (RPA). We investigate the influence of the interband electron-hole excitations on the plasmon mode by analyzing the energy- loss function. Our calculations show that the spectral weight of the plasmon mode is diminished as it enters into the interband electron-hole continuum. As long as it stays below this continuum it can be spectroscopically observable within the long-wavelength limit.
