Sažetak
The article presents cross confessional and military-civic relations in Osijek during the 18th century through a case study of fortress commander and general Jeronim von Ljubibratić and the Inner town of Osijek administration. Conflict emerged after general Ljubibratić, who was Orthodox, acquired an estate through the dubious purchase of property in part of the Inner town of Osijek, which was by statute defined as Catholic-only.
