Sažetak
Corruption is an increasingly topical issue in the political and economic circles of the Member States of the European Union, which wants to minimize its occurrence in economies in transition by implementing special strategies and documents. Economies in the EU system differ significantly in terms of development, and they are divided into two groups, developed economies and economies in transition. Because of these significant differences in development, there are also significant differences in the level of corruption, which is why the following research question arises – in what way and to what extent does corruption limit the economic development of economies in transition. Given that all national economies are based on entrepreneurship, it is advisable to observe corruption and its impact on the development of entrepreneurship. The aim of this research is to estimate the impact of corruption on fundamental segments of national policy related to entrepreneurship in transition economies. Considering the research methodology, Croatia will be taken as a case study, as will Germany which is an economy suitable for comparison, as well as an idol economy. Also, to make the research conclusions more credible and realistic, Slovakia and, in part, Bulgaria will also be taken into consideration. The research will use the correlation method, as well as other statistical methods to process the results found in extensive EU sources. The research hypothesis is based on the claim that corruption significantly affects the development of entrepreneurship, observed through the macro national policies of its development. Previous research has shown a significant link between corruption and basic indicators of economic development of economies in transition, and the results of this research are similar to that. However, certain reservation and the low level of one part of the link, directs the research in another direction, which makes this research special.
