Sažetak
The results of dilatometric analysis of samples of austempered ductile iron, with and without the nickel content (ADI03 and ADI35) are presented. A metallographic examination of the samples was performed after austenitizing at 880 oC and isothermal holding at 380 oC. The overall duration of the heat treatment cycle was 137 minutes for the samples of the ADI03 casting of 75 mm section and 116 minutes for those of 50 mm section. For the ADI35 castings (both sections) the overall heat treatment cycle lasted 130 minutes. Following heat treatment an ausferritic microstructure was present throughout the cross-section. An elevated graphite nodule count was found to reduce the time of stabilization in the austenite phase.
