Sažetak
We live in an era where almost everyone has access and liberty to explore the tools that digital society has to offer. These tools have made some aspects of our lives more comfortable. On the other side, they have given us challenges that are up to each and single of us to face and resolve in our way. However, a specific group of people is disabled from this effect in its full capacity. That group consists of blind and visually impaired people. Some of the content offered in the digital society that most of us take for granted, may not be offered or perceived in the same way to the blind and visually impaired people. That becomes even more relevant when we talk about health-related information. Since the communication exchange is crucial in person-centered care, the main goal of this proposal is to identify, assess and improve ways in which digital society has affected blind and visually impaired people. In order to identify and assess the current status, series of tests and questionnaires will be administered to the participants (blind and visually impaired people). Their results will be compared with control group (sighted people). Based on these results, the second phase will focus on finding ways to improve and make knowledge communication more efficient through modern technology.
