Sažetak
Generation Centre West (GCW) is a river basin control centre in Croatia. From the centre, functionalities of monitoring, planning, control and reporting over remote objects within Hydro West area in Croatia are performed. Hydro West area consists of 4 separate river basins and its total installed power is almost 500 MW. Together with the implementation of the centre, upgrades of process systems in hydro power plants (HPP) were done, as well as automation of meteorological, hydrologic and piezometric (MHP) metering stations throughout the area. The applications and subsystems in GCW can be divided into 3 groups: 1) real-time applications (SCADA, Automatic generation control, Smart energy metering), 2) production planning applications (Short-term hydrology forecast, Hydro schedule and optimization and River flow simulation), and 3) archiving and reporting applications and subsystems (Databases, Web portal and Data Warehouse).
