Sažetak
Throughout the whole educational system a student’s success is measured with the help of grades so there is a commonplace belief that students are studying exclusively to get good grades. In this research we want to get answers to the question whether just the grade is important to motivate a student or does the way in which student’s accomplishments are evaluated have an important impact as well. In the few recent years new teaching trends have introduced new methods of evaluation of students’ accomplishments. Differences between evaluation of the learned and evaluation for learning or evaluation as learning are very important for understanding the theory of learning and motivation and taking responsibility for personal learning. The purpose of the research is to create a specific picture about students’ attitudes towards the ways of evaluation and their relation to motivation so the outcomes could be used in practice. The development of measurement instruments for motivation in Physics lessons is presented in this research. The survey was taken by 355 students of one high-school in the Republic of Croatia. Analysis and validating were based on the results of the survey. The research will also show the analysis of the differences in motivation depending on the student gender, age and differences in the programme they chose– general grammar school program or science and mathematics grammar school program.
