Sažetak
Numerous studies point out that more and more people use social media as their source of information in their exercising. Since there are no means of controlling the correctness of the used contents, users can come across appropriate and inappropriate contents. This study is based on three hypotheses: H1-the sample, in general, is statistically more non-affirmative regarding exercising based on the online and the social media contents ; H2-there is a statistical difference between men and women in affirmative attitudes regarding exercising based on the online and the social media contents ; H3- there is a statistical difference between men and women in non-affirmative attitudes regarding exercising based on the online and the social media contents. Method Since this issue has not been investigated much ; a newly constructed questionnaire was created. The study was conducted on the sample of 50 participants (13 men and 37 women) all of whom attend either sports or fitness center in Split, Croatia. The variable sample consisted of 15 variables. Test-retest was done in order to establish reliability (88.20%) of the questionnaire. Results with discussion Affirmative attitudes are statistically significant in contrast to non-affirmative ones (Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Test, T=250.00, Z=3.60, p<0.001). Men are significantly more affirmative than women on the issue of sports blogs and sports contents in general online (Mann-Whitney U test, U=119.50, Z=-2.68, p=0.007). Conclusion Since this research showed only the attitudes of fitness users ; we suggest that the future studies incorporate attitudes and opinion of professionals in this field
