Sažetak
The present aimed to evaluate the utility of extended inflammatory parameters as early laboratory indicators of COVID-19, that are readily available during each analysis of the complete blood count on Sysmex XN-1000 haematology analyzer. The obtained results revealed that among extended inflammatory parameters obtained through CBC analysis on Sysmex XN hematology analyser, parameters associated with NEUT activation are not specific for COVID-19 compared to respiratory or flu-like infections with similar presentation. Notably, the presence of AS-LYMP in COVID-19 patients was the most prominent finding, indicating that this parameter can, with acceptable diagnostic accuracy, distinguish COVID- 19 from non-COVID-19 patients at the early disease phase.
