Sažetak
Shape memory alloys are functional materials for application in biomedical engineering, space engineering, electrical devices, etc. due to thermoelastic martensitic transformation. [1-4] Continuous casting is frequently used technology for production of shape memory alloys (SMA) lately, but continuous casting of Cu-based SMA alloys is still subject of intensive research. Cu- Al-Mn specimens were prepared by melting of pure metals in vacuum induction furnace, under argon atmosphere and bar with 8 mm diameter was obtained. As-cast state and quenched state after heat-treatment were characterized by scanning electron microscope equipped by energy dispersive spectrometer. Phase transformation temperatures and fusion enthalpies under heating and cooling with rate of 10 °C/min were determined by simultaneous thermal analyzer. Results showed formation of martensitic structure in both states and martensitic transformation above the room temperature, in the interval from 30 – 40 °C.
